Central Bank increases its gold and currency reserves

The gold and currency reserves of the Russian Central Bank grew to $89.1bn in the week ending September 3. The weekly increase was $300m. Over the past two weeks the gold and currency reserves of the Russian Central Bank advanced $800m. Thus, the gold and currency reserves have almost recovered from a one-time $1.3bn fall in the week ending August 20.

However, the gold and currency reserves of the Russian Central Bank are $100m lower than on July 9. Over the past six months the gold and currency reserves of the Russian Central Bank added $1.1bn from a record high of $88bn.
