Yukos co-owner Nevzlin accused of murder

Yukos co-owner Leonid Nevzlin, who was accused of purely economic crimes, tax evasion and fraud, is accused of murders now. The Moscow Basmanny Court has already sanctioned the arrest of the businessman as a mastermind of a series of assassination attempts on some disagreeable people, Vremya Novostei said.

Mr. Nevzlin's defenders believe that having accused him of murders, the prosecutor's office seeks his extradition from Israel, which will hardly extradite him only for economic crimes.

Leonid Nevzlin said that the authorities were seeking his extradition "to settle personal scores" with him. However, investigators assure that they have collected enough evidence of Mr. Nevzlin's guilt, Vremya Novostei reported.
