Putin comments on economic integration

Ukraine, Russia, Kazakhstan and Belarus may reach concrete agreements on the majority of the most important issues regarding the creation of the Common Economic Area of the four states and some of them may be settled in the near future, Russian President Vladimir Putin declared in Yalta (Ukraine) at a summit of the heads of the member states of the Common Economic Area.

According to Putin, this concerns agreed foreign trade policies, common customs taxes, competition and the creation of a common regulating agency, the organizing committee of the forum reported to RBC. "Economic integration, free movement of products, services and labor force will trigger growth and modernization of national economies, enhance their competitiveness on world markets and improve the living standards of Ukrainian, Russian, Belarusian and Kazakhstani citizens," the Russian President emphasized.
