Russia and Spain to change trade turnover structure

Trade turnover between Russia and Spain has been growing steadily for three years now, but the parties are not fully satisfied with its structure. This statement was made at the meeting between Russian Deputy Prime Minister Viktor Khristenko and Spanish Deputy Prime Minister, Economic Minister Rodrigo Rato on Wednesday.

At the meeting, Khristenko expressed his satisfaction with the interaction between the Russian and Spanish business circles. According to the Russian Deputy Prime Minister, it is business interests that significantly influence the dynamics of bilateral relations.

Rato, in his turn, also expressed his satisfaction with the intensification of Russian-Spanish relations. However, Russia and Spain "need to make a qualitative breakthrough" in economic interaction, he pointed out. Thus, Spanish companies could expand their presence in Russia and increase the range of their products on the Russian market, he believes.

An exhibition of Spanish products for home and office, as well as building materials opens in Moscow today, the Spanish minister announced. According to him, these industries annually produce goods worth €10 billion.
