Over the first five months of 2003 Gazprom sold non-core and ineffective assets worth 2.5bn rubles ($82m), Alexander Krasnenkov, the head of the property management and corporate relations department of Gazprom, declared at a news conference in Moscow today. According to Krasnenkov, the total amount of Gazprom assets is 2.4 trillion rubles ($79bn).
In 2003 the gas giant is planning to sell its non-core assets totaling 6bn rubles ($197m). Last year Gazprom and its subsidiaries sold non-core assets worth 10.2bn rubles ($335m).
