Vladimir Putin: Russia not interested in excessive increases in energy prices

The position of Russia on the question of installing judicial order on the prices of energy resources and stability of the market is explainable and completely natural, said President Vladimir Putin on Sunday at a meeting of representatives of large Russian and foreign energy companies and laureates of the Global Energy awards in St. Petersburg on June 15. According to Rosbalt Putin said that 'such a position results from the structure of our economy.' At the same time, he said that 'unlike other exporters of raw materials we, though not satisfied with the development of other sectors of the economy, nevertheless believe they have good perspectives for development and therefore we are not interested in the excessive increase in prices of energy resources. He also said that 'high energy prices would seriously hurt Russian economy.'
