Export of Russian grain came to USD 500 million in 2002

Russia exported 16 million tonnes of grain in the 2002-2003 season. As a Rosbalt correspondent reports, this was announced at a press conference yesterday by Dmitry Rilko, director of the Institute for agrarian market opportunities. He said foreign sales of Russian grain came to USD 500 million last year. According to Mr Rilko Russia will export a further 3 to 6 million tonnes of grain this year although he added that the main export this year would be barley as opposed to wheat.
