The Moscow Prosecutor's Office stops criminal proceedings against the terrorists, who took hostages in Dubrova in connection with their deaths.

Investigation of the criminal case on terrorism and hostage-taking at the Theatre Centre in Dubrovka is coming to an end, the prosecutor's office informed RIA Novosti on Monday.

All investigation formalities have been accomplished. The identities of 30 terrorists have been established and confirmed by documents and other investigation materials. 11 terrorists are yet to be identified.

Criminal activity of the terrorists killed during the operation to save the hostages have been 100 per cent confirmed by the investigation materials and qualified as an act of terror, murder, hostage-taking, illegal production and purchase of arms and explosives.

In compliance with the Russian Criminal Code the criminal proceeding against the terrorist is to be cancelled in connection with their deaths.

However, cancellation of the proceedings in this area does not imply interruption of the proceedings in general, the prosecutor's office stressed. The investigation will continue in order to establish organisers, supporters and other accomplices of the crime and bring them to account.

In October 2002 spectators of "Nord Ost" musical were taken hostages at the Theatre Centre in Dubrovka.
