President Putin On Coordination Of Four Cis Countries' Positions In Joining The WTO

Russian President Vladimir Putin hopes Russia, Ukraine, Belarus and Kazakhstan will soon coordinate their positions in entering the World Trade Organization.

Meeting with the high level group responsible for the forming of the four countries' common economic space in the Kremlin on Wednesday, he said he hoped its work would help remove the problem.

"There is an understanding of the ways to achieve the goal [the forming of a common economic space], but there is also the difficulty of coordinating our countries' positions when joining the WTO," stressed Putin.

The president added it pleased him to note that the high level group was making progress and had drawn up the concept of forming a common economic space.

He said in conclusion that he hoped the group's next meeting in Minsk would set "a new plank" for further work.
