Severstal operating profit up 201% in 2002

The non-consolidated operating IAS profit of Russian major steel maker Severstal rose 201 percent in 2002 to $277 million according to preliminary non-audited results, the company reported. Severstal's gross income is estimated to have risen 25 percent last year to $409 million, while sales revenues are estimated to have risen 8 percent to $1.924 billion. This year the company expects to receive an operating income of $300 million, while sales revenues are forecasted at $2.135 billion, the Russia Journal reported.
