Slobodan Milosevic is on the verge of heart attack

Doctors who examined Former Yugoslav President Slobodan Milosevic determined his state as close to infarction. Milosevic has grave problems with his heart, and may soon suffer from an infarction. The doctors say that Slobodan Milosevic urgently needs rest to avoid serious risk to his health.

At the same time, judges of the Hague court say that Milosevic will undergo an additional cardiology checkup in the near future, RosBusinessConsulting informs. And only after the checkup, the court is to decide whether the trial on Milosevic will be suspended or continued.

The Hague Tribunal also recommends the former Yugoslav president to hire an attorney to continue the trial because of his poor health. However, Milosevic turned down the idea immediately, the same way he had done before. He still does not recognize the Hague Tribunal. “I can’t even think that it is possible to participate in this farce.”

A judge from Jamaica, Patrick Robertson, is quoted by Russia’s RTR-Vesti as saying that state of Milosevic’s health is a matter of serious concern for the court; if Milosevic hired an attorney, he would have more time for rest.

BBC mentions that 60-year-old Milosevic has had the flu twice since beginning of the trial in Hague in February. That is why the hearings were prolonged for one month. In May, the accused was taken to the hospital with backaches, but he was soon delivered back to the court. One court session was cancelled last week, because Slobodan Milosevic’s intravenous pressure was too high. The Socialist Party of Serbia insists that the former Yugoslav president should be released because of his poor health and allowed to return to the Motherland for treatment.

In addition, Milosevic himself declared today that it was not necessary to conduct an examination and interrupt the hearings because of it. “I never asked doctors for help and wanted no medical examination; what is more, I did not ask to suspend the hearings because of my poor health,” Milosevic said.

As the former Yugoslav president said, he uses “any chance to voice his own position; however, the trial is often delayed or interrupted for different reasons.”
