AvtoVAZ's off-road model to be assembled in Uruguay

AvtoVAZ and the Uruguay Rusia Automotriz S. A. and Oferol companies signed an agreement on assembling the model VAZ-21214 (Niva) cars in Uruguay, the press service of AvtoVAZ reported.

AvtoVAZ has already sent automobile components to assemble the first six Niva cars. On the whole, components for 700 cars are planned to be delivered to the assembling line in Montevideo this year. Uruguayan Niva will be sold to Chile, Argentine, Brazil and Paraguay. These off-road cars will have VAZ engines and Peugeot diesel engines.
