FSB chief reports progress of investigation into terrorist acts

Russian President Vladimir Putin has held a meeting with Nikolai Patrushev, the chief of the Federal Security Service, or the FSB, reported the president's press secretary Alexei Gromov.

According to his words, Patrushev informed Putin about the progress of investigation of several terrorist attacks, including the ones in Moscow and Volgodonsk. He made a separate report about the May 9 terrorist attack in Kaspiisk, saying he was convinced all those guilty of that crime would be exposed.

The FSB chief also said the secret service of Georgia, Azerbaijan and other countries were lending a helping hand in the investigation.

Touching on the progress of the counter-terrorist operation in Chechnya, Patrushev said several groups of foreign mercenaries had been eliminated there in the past few days.
