Law enforcers identify owner of truck with explosives

Law enforcers have found out who owns the ZIL-130 truck that was found in Nevinnomyssk, the North Caucasus' Stavropol territory, stuffed with explosives, reported Lieutenant-General Vladimir Fyodorov, who heads the Chief Department of the Russian interior ministry's State Car Inspection.

The truck was discovered in the course of a special operation. The operation did not involve the State Car Inspection, but it nevertheless managed to find the owner, whose name it refused to release for fear of jeopardizing the case.

The ZIL-130 was found in a garage in the town of Nevinnomyssk in the course of an operation conducted jointly by the territorial Federal Security Service and the Prosecutor's Office. The discovery was made on July 18th.

According to the FSS office for the Stavropol territory, the car contained a tank with liquified gas, 2 kg of plastic explosives, and 800 kg of a substance law enforcers identified as aluminium powder mixed with ammoniacal saltpetre. A wire attached to the bag of explosives was connected to the bottom of the car.
