Japanese delegation arrives in Kamchatka with proposals on fishing industry cooperation

A Japanese delegation of 80 businessmen representing the commerce and industry Nemuro chamber of the city of Kushiro has arrived to Kamchatka, Russian Far East, with a set of proposals on cooperation in fishing industry.

On Wednesday the delegation met Kamchatka's governor Mikhail Mashkovtsev, as RIA Novosti learned at the regional administration's press service.

Head of the delegation, chairman of the Nemuro chamber Mr. Hitumuro said the citizens of Hokkaido were worried about the decreasing Pacific resources. The island's fishermen were ready to seek ways of mutually profitable cooperation, according to him.

The Japanese delegation plans to hold meetings at the administration's education department and fishing department, as well as to visit fishing enterprises, sea and trade ports and tourist firms.
