Gazprom-Media acquires Gusinsky's stakes in holding

Gazprom-Media acquired Vladimir Gusinsky's stakes and liabilities of media companies included in the Gazprom-Media holding, according to the press service of Gazprom-Media. According to a mutual agreement, the terms of the deal were not disclosed. Chairman of the Executive Board of Gazprom Aleksey Miller was quoted as saying that this deal will boost the investment attractiveness of Gazprom-Media's assets and will create more favorable conditions for further negotiations with potential investors. "It is also important for the financial performance of the holding that we have acquired all liabilities of our companies to the companies of Mr. Gusinsky along with the assets", Miller said.

General Director of Gazprom-Media Boris Yordan pointed out that this deal would substantially boost the market capitalization of the companies of the holding and contribute to the reinforcement of its financial state. He was quoted as saying that the management of Gazprom-Media will "continue working on the development of the companies included in the holding as economically effective and independent mass media". Gusinsky said, "I'm proud of being able to establish an independent media group some time ago, which succeeded in winning the leading positions in Russia. I hope that the current management of the group and first of all the management of NTV television station will keep up this tradition".
