Beer Producer Baltica (St. Petersburg) has been nominated the best Russian exporter for 2001 in the 'Food and Processing Industry' nominations. As announced by the press-service of the Union of Russian Brewers, the competition entitled 'The Best Russian Exporter' assessed management and economic development and trade in the Russian Federation from 1998 onwards. This year in the nominations for the 2001 Laureate, more than 130 businesses were presented from various branches of the industry. 71 businesses were presented. Among Russian brewers, Baltica is the undisputed leader for export volume. In 2001, the volume of its export came to 420,200 hectolitres, which is 285% more than the figure for 2000 (106,400 hectolitres). Export comprised 3% of Baltica's total sales.
