Caucasian Mineralnye Vody spa suffers no damages in recent flood

The Russian spa town of Caucasian Mineralnye Vody did not suffer any damages during the flood in Russia's southern regions, announced Vladimir Katrenko, a deputy from Caucasian Mineralnye Vody and the Chairman of the State Duma Committee for Energy, Transport and Communications.

According to the deputy, not one single holiday-maker staying at the spa was injured during the flood and heavy showers that came pouring down on the region. As of today, the spa accommodates more than 32,000 of holiday-makers, of whom 4,500 are children. None of them left the town after the calamity.

Katrenko said the safety of the spa was mostly due to its geographical position and a well-organized infrastructure. He thinks the town's foreign rivals are "deliberately gambling on the flood subject to drive vacationers away from the spa."
