India-Pakistan: tension lessens, but persists

As predicted by Pravda.Ru at a time when Western Embassies were fleeing the area in panic, the much-vamped and feared war between India and Pakistan is simply not going to happen, basically because neither side is stupid. Today’s developments are proof that the situation is nearing normality, after the intervention of President Vladimir Putin at the Almaty Conference.

On Monday, New Delhi announced the lifting of air sanctions against Pakistan, which had been in place for the previous six months. India takes this measure in recognition of the lessening of terrorist infiltration into Kashmir, after Pakistan had stated, and fulfilled its promise, that it was to clamp down on separatist Kashmiri terrorists.

Meanwhile, the attacks may have lessened but they have not stopped. Eight people died on Monday in terrorist attacks against Indian Kashmir, while Indian-Pakistani artillery duels caused three deaths.
