President Putin: Russia and USA conduct dialogue on issues of interpreting and using international law standards

Russia and the USA are conducting a "thorough and frank dialogue" on issues connected with the correlation of unilateral and multilateral actions, the "role and modality of using the power factor, the interpretation and use of international law standards." The Russian president said this in an interview with the Chinese Renmin Ribao newspaper.

According to Vladimir Putin, the main thing has been achieved within the framework of this dialogue -- it has become possible to turn our relations to the channel of joint and equal placing of reference-points and taking actions along the entire range of issues on the bilateral and international agenda.

The head of the Russian state pointed out that "the recent Russian-US summit was held precisely in this channel, and its main result was that the foundation was laid for the first elements of the new architecture of strategic stability." He also emphasised that "collaboration has deepened in the face of terrorism and other global threats and challenges." "Cooperation between Russia and the USA in most important international issues, including the European security and settlement of regional conflicts, has acquired a new quality. We are promoting economic partnership to a new level, and it is becoming the key element of the entire complex of bilateral relations," the Russian president pointed out.
