Eduard Limonov’s case to be reconsidered

May 18 in Moscow the court will consider a question of changing the preventive punishment against famous writer and National-Bolshevic leader Eduard Limonov, depute editor-in-chief of Limonka newspaper Anatoly Tishin said to IMA Press. “It is hard to forecast the outcome of the court now. Besides, most of our fellows left for Nizhny Novgorod now, where Limonov is nominated for the governor elections. They went there to collect signatures”, Tishin said. Besides, an action in support of Limonov will be carried out in one of clubs of Moscow. Speaking about a case of National-Bolshevics, convicted in Riga, Latvia, for terrorism, he said that their lawyers had already lodged a complaint. It will be considered within two months. According to the journalist’s forecast, the terms of their sentences will be reduced from 15 to 10 years. “This trial is just another confirmation of anti-Russian policy of Latvia,” Tishin says. For the time being the 10th action was brought against Internal Ministry veterans, living in Latvia. One of the convicts, Kirsanov, died in prison. “Actually, it means that Latvia goes on reconsidering the results of the World War II”, the journalist said.
