Federals Register Militants' Movements In Grozny And Argun

The federal forces registered recurring movements of militants' small groups /numbering some 10 people/ on the northern and north-western outskirts of the Chechen capital of Grozny in the late hours. The regional operative headquarters on anti-terror operation in the North Caucasus reported Thursday that bandits had been tracked down in the Staropromyslovsky and Leninsky districts of Grozny. Thus, the sources say, the Chechen capital remains a potential site of large-scale subversive and terrorist acts. The officials in the headquarters remarked that the militants can timely leave settlements before the federals start their search raids, thank to their sound early warning system. So, an increasing number of groups from bandit formations of the international terrorist Khattab was registered in Argun and on its outskirts in the past 24 hours. It is supposedly connected with the return of bandit groups, which earlier left the area of the planned federal operative and search efforts, and the terrorists' preparations for another subversive act. Officials of the regional operative headquarters report that a Abu Umar controls and issues instructions to bandit leaders. He is also in charge of financial issues and the distribution of the newcoming militants in the terrorist groups.
