Siberian Delegation Heads For Hannover Fair

A delegation from the Tomsk region (West Siberia) flew on Friday to Germany to take part in the traditional Hannover fair that is to be held from April 23 to 28 in the capital of the German federal land of the Lower Saxony. The delegation comprises representatives from regional authorities and local enterprises. First deputy governor Vyacheslav Nagovitsyn heads it. The region administration press service noted that the region has constantly taken part in such activities for several years in a row. Tomsk residents have managed to get business partners in Germany for this time. Siberian enterprises' production was usually exhibited at the fair. However, according to a delegation member, director of external economic and regional activities department, Alexander Petrov, this time Tomsk residents are bringing to Hannover a number of innovation projects that will be exposed in the new pavilion called "Global Investment Forum". The most prospective projects include offers on financing: wild medicinal herbs collection, medicines production according to new technologies, creation of cheap electric batteries on the basis of "solar powered silicon", construction of a plant for high quality ceramic tile production, production of modern polypropylene wrappers and oil and gas equipment. Tomsk enterprises and firms came forward with a few scores of projects. The delegation members hope these offers might interest potential European partners.
