Mikhail Gorbachev who is now visiting the Texas state, called on US president George Bush Jr. to regard Russia as the US partner. The ex-president of the USSR said this on Thursday at the Texas university near Houston. According to him, the Bush administration has not yet elaborated the foreign policy course with respect to Russia and this gives rise to concern. Gorbachev also stressed that the world community will not agree if the US chooses the way of "self-isolation" and called upon Bush to develop cooperation and partnership with other countries in economic, ecological and other spheres. Touching upon the prospects of Russian-US relations, the ex-president of the USSR said that he believes Russian-US relations have "good prospects" for the future.
