President’s veto overridden by State Duma for the first time

As PRAVDA.RU has just learned from lower house deputy Gennadi Khodyrev that the Russian Duma managed to override a presidential veto imposed January 4th on the bill “Of the state regulation of the export of the scrap and waste of nonferrous metals.” 314 MPs did not agree with Mr. Putin this time, setting a precedent. So, the hearsay of the Duma being fully controlled by the President seems exaggerated.
