East of Russia stays without telecasting

The biggest part of Siberia was left without telecasting yesterday in connection with the breakage of the retranslating satellite “Ekran”. Today Kamchtka was left without television as well. But this time it happened because of struggle of power engineering specialists and local authorities. Kamchatka telecasting centre owes 4,5 million to Russia. Today it was decided to turn off the power supply of the centre. The telecasting is completely turned off in the region. Even local TV channels do not function. A few central and local broadcasting stations are turned off as well. To all appearances, the engineering specialists decided not to turn on the power supply at the television and radio centre until all the debts are paid off.
