Russian advertising market demonstrates growth

The Russian advertising market grew 35 percent in the first quarter of 2003 compared to the corresponding period in 2002 and reached about $520m to $540m, the expert council of the Russian Association of Advertising Agencies reported. According to data provided by TNS Gallup AdFact, the most significant rise was registered in advertising on television and in magazines, i.e. about 45 percent, while other advertising sectors gained 25 to 35 percent. According to Ruslan Tagiyev, the General Director of TNS Gallup AdFact and a member of the expert council, the domestic advertising market continued to demonstrate bright results despite some slow down in the growth rate. He stressed that these achievements stood out against recession on the global market.
