RF Navy commander-in-chief examines the alertness of Caspian Fleet

The commander-in-chief of RF Navy Vladimir Kuroyedov arrived at Caspian flotilla for scheduled inspection of its alertness on Sunday, the press-service of Russian Navy announced. Vladimir Kuroyedov is to examine the level of professional training of the staff. For this purpose the maneuvers in Northern and central parts of Caspian sea will be conducted. Two subdivisions of surface ships, a brigade of marines and other ships and units will take part in the manoeuvres, RIA Novosti reports. Fleet Admiral Vladimir Kuroyedov considers that the commanders of all the Russian fleets should carry out such examinations regularly, the Navy press-service reports. "The fleet should master seas and oceans. The alertness of the sailors is being forged in seas and oceans", Kuroyedov say. It will be recalled that the Navy commander-in-chief examined the alertness of Northern Navy in December 2000. The manoeuvres will be complete January 12, 2001
