How Mexican authorities take care of the elderly

Andres Manuel Lopes Obrador, mayor of Mexico city, says the city administration is set to allocate funds to ease the plight of the elderly living in poorest districts of the capital. They are now to be getting a monthly payment at the amount of 600 peso (nearly $62) and be given medicines and medical care free of charge. Eligible for the aid are only persons over 70 whose monthly income does not exceed the minimal wage. The number of those potential recipients is estimated at about 200,000.
