A red flag become an official standard of the Russian Army

A federal law “on the Flag of Armed Forces of RF, the Flag of Navy and Flags of Other Forces” joins into force today. We will remind to you that the red flag of the Victory has been “illegally” used for many years in fighting units of the Russian Army. Now the law states that these flags are official symbols and military relics. The law was adopted by the State Duma December, 8, 2000, approved by the Federation Council December 20 and signed by President Vladimir Putin December 29, 2000.
