EBOLA: FORGOTTEN BY THE MEDIA BUT VERY MUCH ALIVE – 173 DEATHS SINCE SEPTEMBER

The Ebola outbreak in Uganda gained the world’s attention earlier this summer, with 40 cases reported of this horrific disease, which causes symptoms so horrendous that video film of patients has to carry a warning for those impressionable not to view it. The story was lost in the international haze of terrorism, Middle East unrest, NATO’s war crimes in Kosovo but the truth is that now at the end of the year, the outbreak has not ended. The death toll in Uganda since September is now 173, according to the Ugandan Health Ministry, and seven of these deaths have taken place in the last ten days. Non-governmental organizations state that the death rate is much higher. There is no cause for complacency with this type of disease, which could spread into a world pandemic much more easily than the authorities at the World Health Organization admit.
