Spanish procurator: it’s normal for Gusinski to be kept in custody

Spanish procurator’s office has refused to meet the plea to free Russian media magnate Vladimir Gusinski who was earlier arrested in Spain at the request of the Russian law-enforcement bodies. At the same time, the Spanish procurator’s office refrains from assessing the validity of fraud accusations brought against the magnate in Russia, considering it to be beyond its competence, Interfax reports. It is quite normal that Mr. Gusinski is being kept here in custody – we have to prevent from fleeing a man who did not obey the summons of his country’s law-enforcement bodies, the Spanish procurator’s office adds.
