Number of drug users grows in Russia

The number of registered drug users in Russia has grown 10 times for the last 10 years, amounting to 370,000. Drug addicts make up 210,000. However, the Health Ministry’s Narcology Research Institute says that in reality they are 3-3.5 times as much, IMA-press reports. Young people under 30 years of age account for over two-thirds of the drug users. Teenagers get involved in drug abuse 7.5 times more frequently than the adults. On average, 13-14-yearolds start to take drugs. Only 5% of young drug addicts live till 35.
