Ukrainian President was interrogated

Ukrainian President Leonid Kuchma was interrogated by General Prosecutor of Ukraine Mikhail Potebenko. According to the Prosecutor, the President was interrogated because of the bringing an action on the fact that higher Ukrainian officials had been slandered by Socialist party leader, people’s depute Alexander Moroz. In particular, the depute said that higher officials, including the Ukrainian President, are involved in journalist Georgy Gongadze disappearance, Ria-Novosti reports. According to prosecutor Potebenko, Leonid Kuchma was interrogated November 30. The head of Ukrainian President administration Vladimir Litvin and Internal Minister Yury Kravchenko were interrogated the same day. Leonid Kuchma, Vladimir Litvin and Yury Kravchenko insist that the investigation of the case should be carried out as quick and impartially as it is possible. The people should know the truth, the culprits should be punished. As regards disappeared journalist Georgy Gongadze, the prosecutor still is not aware if he is alive or not. Potebenko stressed it was necessary to find him. Besides, the prosecutor reported that today or on Monday genetic examination of the body, found in Kiev region at the beginning of November, will be made.
