Terrorists killed 62 in Buinarsk stand trial in Daghestan

Legal process of arrangers of the monstrous act of terrorism in Buinarsk, started in Daghestan. The explosion of the dwelling house they arranged was the first of several explosions happened in Russia in 1999. Six persons are in the dock: they are Zainutdinovs (a father and a son), Abdulkadir Abdulkadirov, Magomed Magomedov, Salikhov (his brother is hiding), and Musa Abdusamedov. In the beginning of the trial the State Prosecutor of Daghestan Murad Aliyev demanded extreme penalty for the accused: life imprisonment. The explosion occurred in 1999, September 4, at 21:45. In Shikhsaidov street, in front of the house number 3a, where service-men and their families lived, a lorry full of explosives blew up. The house was razed to the ground, and the nearby housed there damaged. 58 died as a result of the explosion, 100 were injured, 4 died at a hospital. It was determined that Emir ibn Al Khattab was the initiator of the explosion. In August 1999 he ordered to graduates of his main terrorist camp, situated nearby Serzhen-Yurt, Magomet and Alisultan Salekhovs, Z.K.Ziyavudinov, I.I. Zainutdinov and Sh.M. Omarov to prepare and realize the dwelling-house explosion. The criminals left for Daghestan and proceeded to the preparation. They put the explosives in two lorries and parked them near the house number 3a in Shikhsaidov Street and near the house number 147 in Dakhayev Street. Fortunately, the second bomb was neutralized by law-enforcement services in time.
