Two draftees of the Nalchik unit kidnapped

Two draftees of the Nalchik unit of the Frontier Troops have been kidnapped, a representative of the Press Center of Russia's Federal Frontier Service told RBC. According to preliminary information, they left their unit by car, accompanied by unknown persons. The kidnappers telephoned the office of the representative of the President of Russia in Kabardino-Balkaria and promised to release the frontier guards for a ransom. The Federal Security Service and the Interior Ministry have been informed about this incident. The Federal Frontier Service is making efforts to find and liberate the servicemen. A special task group has been formed in the North Caucasus. According to information from the Press Center of the Frontier Service, both servicemen were drafted into the Frontier Troops in spring 2000.
