Two years ago on the night of November 21 at the porch of her house in St Petersburg the State Duma Depute Galina Starovoytova was killed. A submachine gun and a gun were found at the locus delicti. About 800 witnesses were interrogated during these two years, more than 100 examinations were made. Three groups of version were worked out – the political, the financial and the common ones. The General Prosecutors prolonged the terms of the interrogation until May 20 of 2001 because nobody had been detained. Tamara Rokhlina was sentenced to eight years' imprisonment. But it doesn’t mean that the murder of General Rokhlin was uncovered. In fact, cases of famous journalist Listiev, businessmen Filippov and Manevich murders are in such a poor state, too. Galina Starovaytova murder fits into the same category. It’s naive to believe that the initiators of her assassination will be detained. And what about its executors, the hired assassins? Who cares about them in such situations? As a rule, they are sent abroad or killed.
