BERESOVSKY TO SELL TV-6 TO GERMANS

Russian financier in disgrace Boris Berezovsky is carrying on negotiations to sell his part of Russian TV-6 television channel shares to the German KirchGruppe holding. Representatives of the German KirchGruppe holding visited Moscow and familiarized themselves with the situation on TV-6, its finance state, regional network, advertising position in the market. A source close to Berezovsky says the KirchGruppe seriously considers the possibility to buy a part of TV-6. It is unclear yet what part Berezovsky would sell, but it would be obviously a "blocking part", the source told journalists. At the same time TV-6 head Alexander Ponamarev stated it might be sold no more than 25% of company's shares. The KirchGruppe refrains from commenting the possible Russian deal. Meanwhile, a source close to the holding administration confirmed to journalists the fact that the negotiations between Berezovsky in person and KirchGruppe owner Leo Kirh were under way. Former Russia's State Duma deputy and businessman Boris Berezovsky owns 75% of the TV-6 shares, 15% are held by Russian oil company "Lukoil" and 10% by Moscow Committee on science and technology. The KirchGruppe holding is the biggest telecompany in Germany. Pro Sieben Media, Sat.1 TV-channel and CBM, Glucksrad, Filmproduktion Janus corporations are a part of the holding. The KirchGruppe holds some shares of Spanish Telecinco channel and Italian Mediaset Group, Lenta.ru reports.
