PRESIDENTIAL PLENIPOTENTIARY BRINGS TO PRIMORYE STORM, NOT MONEY

Protests of teachers continue in Russia’s Far East. In many schools, classes are cancelled. Kindergartens are closed up. The strikers demand full payment of the arrears and connecting schools and kindergartens to heat. Moreover, several districts were deprived of television and radio broadcasts. Interestingly, Mr. Pulikovski, Russia’s presidential plenipotentiary to the Far-Eastern Federal District, visited the region yesterday. He reprimanded local officials. In particular, he ordered local procurator’s office to launch investigation into delays of salary payments to teachers. The order is being obeyed. Strikes are in progress.
