JAPANESE SPY SCANDAL TURNS BLUFF

Fresh details of the latest spy scandal between Russia and Japan have surfaced. As has earlier been reported, on September 8th, Japanese Navy officer Shigehiro Hagisaki was arrested on a charge of spying for Russia. He is alleged to have handed over secrete documents to Russia’s attache. Russian embassy immediately called this incident a provocation. Now it appears is was the case. The Japanese national defence agency has acknowledged that none of those documents was stamped as “secret.” Moreover, the very passing of the documents has failed to get ascertained. And yet, Mr. Hagisaki is to stand trial in a month. It is not quite clear what he is now being charged with, though.
