MARSHAL SERGEYEV MEETS WITH AHMAD SHAH MASUD

Marshal Igor Sergeyev, Russia’s Defence Minister, met today in the morning with Afghanistan’s Northen Alliance leader Ahmad Shah Massud. The situation in northern Afghanistan as well as the ways of countering the threat posed by Taliban were under discussion, RIA Novosti news agency reports. Besides, the situation in Afghanistan and in the South Asia as a whole is expected to be discussed when Marshal Sergeyev meets with Iran’s Foreign Minister Kamal Harrazi later today.
