RUSSIA TO SELL POWER TO TURKEY

Russia’s Prime Minister Mikhail Kasyanov and Turkey’s Energy Minister Cumhur Ersumer have agreed on Russia’ electric power supplies to Turkey via Republic of Georgia’s territory, said Russian major utility RAO UES’s Chief Executive Anatoli Chubais who took part in the talks. In Mr. Chubais’s words, the total supplies will make up 100mn – 110mn kWh per month. According to RIA Novosti news agency, this will bring Russia a profit at about $50mn a year.
