Russian politicians suggest series of amendments to the Russian Law on Parties

23 Russian political parties adopted a joint address on Monday, suggesting series of amendments to the Russian Law on Parties. The project was elaborated with the active participation of the Central Electoral Commission and the parliamentary hearings on it are scheduled for December 9, RIA-Novosti informs. The important change suggested in the project is the introduction of budget financing for political parties. It is called “an important condition of the political parties’ independence and a guarantee against all sorts of abuse”.
