Iranian oil minister is going to Moscow

Iran's oil minister arrived in Moscow on Tuesday for talks on economic and technical cooperation, a news report said. Oil minister Bijan Namdar Zangeneh heads the Iranian side of a joint commission on strengthening cooperation, and was set to meet with his Russian counterpart, State Property Minister Farit Gazizullin, the Interfax news agency said. A duty officer at the Iranian Embassy in Moscow confirmed that Zangeneh had arrived but did not to give details. Interfax said Russia and Iran would sign agreements on technical and economic cooperation, and that Zangeneh planned to meet with several ministers and business leaders. No further details were given. Russia and Iran have close defense ties and Russia is helping to build a nuclear reactor in Bushehr in southern Iran.
