Deputies Of State Duma Agree With Vladimir Putin's Stand On Combating International Terrorism

Deputies of the lower house of the Russian parliament expressed their solidarity on Wednesday with the Russian president's position on the struggle against international terrorism. Lawmakers, at an evening plenary session on Wednesday, adopted in general a resolution concerning the military operation being conducted against international terrorists on the territory of Afghanistan. According to Konstantin Kosachev, deputy head of the international affairs committee of the State Duma, the lower house supported the view that the form of Russia's participation in appropriate international efforts should be defined proceeding from its national interests. The resolution was carried by 268 votes to 101, with two abstentions.
