Beginning 10 a.m. on October 18, Thursday, the ITERA group of companies will start a gradual reduction in its natural gas supplies to Georgia and Armenia, ITERA Holding's press service told RIA Novosti Wednesday. The ITERA group had to resort to the measure due to the countries' indebtedness for the consumed gas and reluctance to start paying off the debt, according to the press service. It is soonest settlement of the debt for the consumed fuel and timely payment for future deliveries that can restore the previous volume of natural gas supplies to Georgia and Armenia, said ITERA. Georgian consumers' debt for the ITERA-delivered gas totals $82 million, Armenia's - $36.9 million.
