67% Of Surveyed Russian Companies Intend To Increase Investments In E-Commerce

Executives of 67% of surveyed Russian companies plan to increase their investments in e-commerce within a year. This conclusion is suggested in a survey conducted by the Accenture company. 60% of the respondents said that Russia's future prosperity largely depends on how fast and broadly e-commerce will be introduced, and 37% pointed out that they are already implementing projects in this sphere and consider it an important task for their businesses. At the same time, 37% of the respondents (it is more than the corresponding figures in any other country included in the survey) remarked that they were tired of the process of implementation of these projects and are unable to assess real benefits brought by them. Experts of Accenture think that this is due to the fact that many Russian companies started implementation of e-commerce projects without a developed informational and technological strategy to support the business strategy of a company. E-commerce is mainly used in the marketing and sales sector in Russia now. Nonetheless, is has begun to gradually encompass the sector of purchases and logistics, and human resource management. Russian executives who participated in the poll showed serious interest in the potential of the B2B sector. Over 20% of the respondents said that they already use electronic trading sites, and 50% planned to start using them in the near future.
