Sale Of Natural Gas To Armenia Is Under A Question Mark

International group of companies "Itera" from 15 October might stop selling natural gas to the republic of Armenia. According to the press service of "Itera Holding" this is done because of "chronic non-payment for natural fuel acquired by Armenian consumers the indebtedness of which by now reached the sum of USD 36.9 million". The company indicated that "ITERA" warned in advance the leadership of the republic of Armenia about the possible termination of sale of natural gas in connection with non-payments. On 5 October a letter was sent to the Armenian Energy minister with the notice about the possible termination of gas deliveries from 10.00 Moscow time on 15 October this year. The press service emphasized that nevertheless by now no real actions to settle the debt were undertaken by the Armenian side. "ITERA" has been selling natural gas to Armenia from 1996. The sales plan for the current year provides for the deliveries volume of up to 1.5 billion cubic meters of natural fuel.
