Russia Produces 1.074 Billion Tons Of Equivalent Fuel In First Nine Months Of This Year

In the first nine months of this year Russia produced 1.074 billion tons of equivalent fuel, or 6 million tons more than the target and 27 million tons more than in 2000, said Energy Minister Igor Yusufov on Thursday. He was speaking at a meeting of the State Duma's committee on energy, transport and communications, "On Results of Preparation of the Fuel and Energy Complex and Housing and Communal Services of Russia for the Autumn-Winter Period of 2001-2002". He also said that in the first nine months the country turned out 4 million tons more oil than in 2000, and 6 million tons more coal. He said that the target for heating oil had been met in full. Yusufov said that "before the end of this year and in the 1st quarter of 2002 it is planned to fully meet the state's requirements in all types of primary energy sources".
