Premier Kasyanov Thinks Czech Leadership Is Changing Its Attitude To Cooperation With Russia

Russia's Prime Minister Mikhail Kasyanov believes that the leadership of the Czech Republic is changing its attitude to cooperation prospects with Russia. "At least there are signals about the readiness of the Czech leadership to create all conditions for the participation of Russian enterprises in the privatisation of property in the Czech Republic," Kasyanov said Wednesday at a meeting with journalists. According to him, tenders will be held in the near future for the privatisation of gas transport enterprises of the Czech Republic and above all Transgaz, as well as the Unipetrol holding. Russia was promised the most favoured treatment, Kasyanov emphasised. According to the premier, the results of his two-day visit to Prague can be called "tangible". The sides signed 7 agreements in various fields and reached accords for the future, in particular, on supporting Czech investment in Russia. Kasyanov noted that during his personal conversation with Czech Prime Minister Milos Zeman he formed the impression that the Czech head of state also positively viewed the negotiations held. The chairman of the Russian government said that the prime minister of the Czech Republic is most likely to visit Russia next year and will continue talks on the full range of questions. On Wednesday evening the Russian prime minister is returning to Moscow.
